How Kigali airport car pickup works

Kigali International Airport is twenty minutes from the city centre, and most of our clients meet us there. Here is exactly what happens.

Before you fly

When you book, give us the flight number, the arrival time and your hotel or lodge. Forty-eight hours before you land we send the driver's name and phone number, the vehicle's plate number and, if you are heading straight up-country, the route.

At arrivals

After immigration and baggage, walk out to international arrivals. The driver is there with a name board. For a transfer, you are driven to your hotel in the city or on to Musanze, Akagera or Lake Kivu. For a self-drive rental, the car is at the airport with a full tank: we do a walk around the car together, sign the agreement, fit the local SIM and offline maps, and you drive off. The handover takes about fifteen minutes.

If the flight is late

Send us the flight number and we watch for it. If it lands late, the driver waits at arrivals with the name board.

Which vehicle?

For one to three travellers a Corolla or RAV4; for a family or a team with bags, a Hiace minibus with a driver; for a group, the 26-seat Coaster. If you are starting a safari from the airport, the Prado or the Safari Land Cruiser with a driver-guide can leave for the parks directly.

Returning the car

Collection is free anywhere in Rwanda. Most clients return the car at the airport before departure: tell us the flight time and a driver meets you at the terminal, checks the car and takes the keys. You can also leave the car at your hotel, or as far away as Karongi or Rubavu, and we collect it there.

What it costs

Delivery and collection are free. Transfers are quoted for the route and the vehicle — send the flight details and where you are staying, and we reply the same day.
