How it runs
We deliver you (or the car) to a lodge at Akagera's southern gate the afternoon before. Day one starts at the gate at dawn for a long game drive north through the plains, lunch at a lodge, then an afternoon boat on Lake Ihema for hippos and waterbirds. Day two is a second drive at first light, then the two-and-a-half-hour tarmac road back to Kigali — or onward to the northern gate for a one-way traverse.
