Add a professional driver-guide to any car in the fleet. They know the murram, the park gates and the language — you look out of the window. Their meals and lodging are included in the day rate.
Gorilla trekking starts with a 7am briefing at Kinigi, which means a 5am departure from Kigali on a road that is still dark. Akagera rewards a dawn arrival. Nyungwe's tracks flood in the rains. A driver-guide turns those hours of navigation into hours of looking out of the window, and knows which track has just been graded.
Our driver-guides speak English, French and Kinyarwanda and have driven every route on this site many times. Their meals and lodging on the road are included in the day rate, so there is nothing to arrange at the lodge.
Choose any vehicle — the Prado for a mixed itinerary, the pop-top Land Cruiser V8 for game drives, a Hiace or Coaster for a group — and we add the driver-guide at $35 a day. Minibuses and the Coaster always come with a driver.
The quote is one page: car, driver, permits, park fees and lodges. Thirty percent holds it all and lets us buy your gorilla permits the same day.
Rates include unlimited kilometres in-country, insurance and a full tank at handover. Fuel on the road is yours.
Sequenced so you are never driving at dusk, with the permit, the lodge and the car on one quote.
